About Upper Room Recovery
This transitional living program was founded in order to provide safe and stable housing for those who are serious about their recovery journey. Upper Room exists to help both men and women move toward a productive and independent life free from drugs and alcohol. They emphasize equality, meaning that they welcome people of all races, disabilities, religions and gender orientations to join the program.
In order to apply and be admitted to Upper Room, clients must have a minimum of 30 days clean and sober. They must have no record of criminal history, demonstrate willingness to change, get along with others and agree to regular drug and alcohol screenings. Clients who come to Upper Room can pay $100 per week to live in the dorm-style, gender-specific housing. They will meet regularly with a case manager to ensure their progress, be available for volunteer work, attend AA/NA meetings, attend house meetings, get a 12-Step sponsor and participate in religious services of their choice. If a potential client has not yet gotten clean or sober, the staff at Upper Room can refer them to nearby services that provide the level of care that they need. Food, laundry supplies and toiletries must be furnished by the resident.
