Lifeskills South Florida provides detox and residential treatment for adults with substance use disorders and co-occurring complex mental health or medical conditions. Their highest level of care includes evaluation, stabilization, and detoxification for individuals with chronic or acute issues such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder (BPD), major depression, and generalized anxiety. Treatment takes place in a structured, supportive environment with 24/7 nursing care.
Each client receives care through Lifeskills’ Six Clinical Pathways, a model grounded in evidence-based practices and tailored by licensed or doctoral-level clinicians. Pathways include acute care, chemical dependency, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) management, and metabolic fitness. Clients also participate in a wide range of clinical groups and therapies, including acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), exposure and response prevention (ERP), meditation, and rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT).
Family involvement is a core part of treatment, with licensed therapists offering personalized support for issues like trauma, chronic illness, and family dynamics. The STEER program—Support, Training, Empowerment, Education, and Recovery—guides families through the healing process with sessions offered in person or virtually. Lifeskills also offers robust aftercare through its alumni program, which encourages connection and long-term engagement through discharge planning, peer support, and alumni events.
