Koinonia Residential Treatment Center Rhinelander

Adults recovering from alcohol, opioid, cocaine, fentanyl, meth, and other addictions receive individualized care in a structured residential setting. The program serves both men and women and includes case management and discharge planning to support long-term recovery. Clients work with a clinical team that addresses physical, emotional, and behavioral needs while providing education, counseling, and guidance to help them transition back into their communities.
Set on a three-acre wooded campus near the Jehovah’s Witnesses church in Rhinelander, Wisconsin, the program offers a peaceful setting for recovery. Clients take part in group therapy, gender-specific sessions, and individual counseling. Treatment also includes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), relapse prevention, and life skills classes, with on-site AA/NA meetings. Spiritual care and Native American resources, including a smudging area and sweat lodge, are also available.
Daily routines include therapy groups, gender-specific sessions, educational classes, individual counseling, and time for breaks and self-reflection. Family therapy and related support programs, including Al-Anon and Nar-Anon, are incorporated to strengthen the support network at home. Clients also attend nutrition education, with 24-hour residential staff providing guidance and supervision. This structured approach helps clients stay focused on recovery while building skills for long-term stability.
