Gary E. Miller Canadian County Children’s Justice Center

This Oklahoma-based, CARF-accredited center supports children, teens, and families in Canadian County through trauma-informed behavioral health and substance use services. It offers multiple levels of care, including outpatient, intensive outpatient, and residential treatment for adolescents. The center also runs an alternative school for youth struggling in traditional classrooms and provides secure detention services with trained, mental health-informed staff. Services are free to county residents, helping youth overcome challenges and build pathways to healing and success.
The center takes a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach rooted in evidence-based practices. Therapy options include individual, group, and family therapy, case management, wellness support, and peer recovery services. Services address both mental health and substance use needs, with treatment guided by care placement standards. Camp HOPE and its year-round Pathways mentoring program further support youth who have experienced trauma, using guided activities, education, and consistent role models to build confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging.
The facility includes a 28-bed secure juvenile detention center, a 12-bed residential program for adolescent substance use treatment, and an alternative education center. Children can access services in a safe and structured environment that also features visitation rooms, interview spaces, and outdoor recreation. Monthly events, group mentoring, and transportation partnerships help reduce barriers to care creating a therapeutic space that empowers youth and families to grow emotionally, socially, and academically while moving toward healthier lives.
