Family Guidance Center

This center has provided counseling since 1902, serving people of all ages through individual, group, and family therapy. Services address concerns such as anxiety, depression, substance use, grief, and relationship challenges. Specialized programs include support for divorcing parents, postpartum mothers, and teens learning skills to manage emotions. Care is offered in offices, schools, and homes to reduce barriers to treatment.
Therapists use evidence-based approaches tailored to each person’s goals. Dialectical Behavior Therapy helps clients manage emotions, improve relationships, and handle stress more effectively. Classes and support groups give parents tools to guide children through divorce, separation, or other life changes. These services focus on building coping skills, strengthening connections, and supporting emotional well-being.
Sessions vary based on the program. An individual meeting may focus on talking through challenges and practicing coping strategies, while group therapy offers shared learning and support. Students may receive counseling during the school day, and families can take part in structured educational programs together. For those with limited access, mobile therapy and sliding-scale fees make services easier to obtain.
